A large part of the landscape in Groningen consists of agriculture. About eighty percent of the area owned and managed by farmers. The province of Groningen supports sustainable, future-proof agriculture.

The arable farming sector experiences various challenges, such as soil salinisation, labor shortages and climate issues. Together we are committed to responding to these developments to maintain the top position of the arable farming sector in the Netherlands.
