Van Hall Larenstein states to educate professionals who contribute to a sustainable and better world. We want to do this by working with each other and our network partners enjoyably and productively.

The most sustainable University of Applied Science in the Netherlands

Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences may call itself the most sustainable university of applied sciences in the Netherlands! It is the only university of applied sciences in the Netherlands that has awarded all thirteen of its bachelor’s degree programmes three AISHE stars. AISHE (Auditing Instrument for Sustainability in Higher Education) is an assessment framework for sustainable development in higher education. A positive assessment of a programme receives the Sustainable Higher Education hallmark. In addition, Van Hall Larenstein achieved the ‘Recognized’ level in the CSR audit. MVO is a special sustainability standard for higher education, based on ISO26000 – the international guideline for corporate social responsibility.
